Imhotep - Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imhotep
Imhotep was an Egyptian chancellor to the pharaoh Djoser, probable architect of the Djoser's step pyramid, and high priest of the sun god Ra at Heliopolis.
Imhotep (/?m'ho?t?p/;[1] Egyptian: ??-m-?tp *ja-im-?atap, in Unicode hieroglyphs:, "the one who comes in peace"; fl. late 27th century BC) was an Egyptian chancellor to the pharaoh Djoser, probable architect of the Djoser's step pyramid, and high priest of the sun god Ra at Heliopolis. Very little is known of Imhotep as a historical figure, but in the 3000 years following his death, he was gradually glorified and deified.
Traditions from long after Imhotep's death treated him as a great author of wisdom texts[2] and especially as a physician.[3][4][5][6][7] No text from his lifetime mentions these capacities and no text mentions his name in the first 1200 years following his death.[8][9] Apart from the three short contemporary inscriptions that establish him as chancellor to the pharaoh, the first text to reference Imhotep dates to the time of Amenhotep III (c. 1391–1353 BC). It is addressed to the owner of a tomb, and reads:
The wab-priest may give offerings to your ka. The wab-priests may stretch to you their arms with libations on the soil, as it is done for Imhotep with the remains of the water bowl.
—?D. Wildung (1977), Egyptian Saints: Deification in Pharaonic Egypt, p. 34.
It appears that this libation to Imhotep was done regularly, as they are attested on papyri associated with statues of Imhotep until the Late Period (c. 664–332 BC). To Wildung, this cult holds its origin in the slow evolution of the memory of Imhotep among intellectuals from his death onwards. To Alan Gardiner, this cult is so distinct from the offerings usually made to commoners that the epithet of "demi-god" is likely justified to describe the way Imhotep was venerated in the New Kingdom (c. 1550–1077 BC).[10]
The first references to the healing abilities of Imhotep occur from the Thirtieth Dynasty (c. 380–343 BC) onwards, some 2200 years after his death.[11][12]
He was one of only two commoners ever to be deified after death (the other being Amenhotep, son of Hapu). The center of his cult was in Memphis. The location of his tomb remains unknown, despite efforts to find it.[13] The consensus is that it is hidden somewhere at Saqqara.
Historicity[edit]
Imhotep's historicity is confirmed by two contemporary inscriptions made during his lifetime on the base or pedestal of one of Djoser's statues (Cairo JE 49889) and also by a graffito on the enclosure wall surrounding Sekhemkhet's unfinished step-pyramid.[14][15] The latter inscription suggests that Imhotep outlived Djoser by a few years and went on to serve in the construction of King Sekhemkhet's pyramid, which was abandoned due to this ruler's brief reign.[14]
Architecture and engineering[edit]
Pyramid of Djoser
Imhotep was one of the chief officials of the Pharaoh Djoser. Egyptologists ascribe to him the design of the Pyramid of Djoser, a step pyramid at Saqqara in Egypt in 2630–2611 BC.[16] He may also have been responsible for the first known use of stone columns to support a building.[17] Despite these later attestations, the pharaonic Egyptians themselves never credited Imhotep as the designer of the stepped pyramid nor with the invention of stone architecture.[18]
Deification[edit]
Two thousand years after his death, Imhotep's status had risen to that of a god of medicine and healing. He was eventually equated with Thoth, the god of architecture, mathematics, and medicine, and patron of scribes: Imhotep's cult had merged with that of his former tutelary god.
He was revered in the region of Thebes as the "brother" of Amenhotep, son of Hapu, another deified architect, in the temples dedicated to Thoth.[19][20] Imhotep was also linked to Asklepios by the Greeks.[21]
According to myth, Imhotep's mother was a mortal named Kheredu-ankh, she too being eventually revered as a demi-goddess as the daughter of Banebdjedet.[22] Alternatively, since Imhotep was known as the "Son of Ptah",[23] his mother was sometimes claimed to be Sekhmet, the patron of Upper Egypt whose consort was Ptah.
The Upper Egyptian Famine Stela, which dates from the Ptolemaic period (305–30 B.C.), bears an inscription containing a legend about a famine lasting seven years during the reign of Djoser. Imhotep is credited with having been instrumental in ending it. One of his priests explained the connection between the god Khnum and the rise of the Nile to the king, who then had a dream in which the Nile god spoke to him, promising to end the drought.[24]
A demotic papyrus from the temple of Tebtunis, dating to the 2nd century A.D., preserves a long story about Imhotep.[25] King Djoser plays a prominent role in the story, which also mentions Imhotep's family; his father the god Ptah, his mother Khereduankh, and his younger sister Renpetneferet. At one point Djoser desires Renpetneferet, and Imhotep disguises himself and tries to rescue her. The text also refers to the royal tomb of Djoser. Part of the legend includes an anachronistic battle between the Old Kingdom and the Assyrian armies where Imhotep fights an Assyrian sorceress in a duel of magic.[citation needed]
As an instigator of Egyptian culture, Imhotep's idealized image lasted well into the Roman period. In the Ptolemaic period, the Egyptian priest and historian Manetho credited him with inventing the method of a stone-dressed building during Djoser's reign, though he was not the first to actually build with stone. Stone walling, flooring, lintels, and jambs had appeared sporadically during the Archaic Period, though it is true that a building of the size of the step pyramid made entirely out of stone had never before been constructed. Before Djoser, pharaohs were buried in mastaba tombs.

There
is apparently another planet in our

an orbit of some 3,600 years. Now according to ancient Sumerian texts only recently deciphered (see below), their gods came

own solar system called Niburu, and furthermore, their descriptions of it match precisely
those of the 'new' planet being currently given by
astronomers. Does this sound absurd? Then what are
we to make of another Sumerian clay tablet depicting all the planets
in our solar system including this extra Planet?
The
tablet is 4,500 years old; it not only shows all the nine planets, but also a tenth"
"How
come a 4,500-year old Sumerian clay tablet has them all clearly delineated,
together with the tenth
planet that we have yet accurately
to pinpoint?
The
elusive tenth planet
The
existece of a tenth
planet has become known to science
because NASA has recently found deviations in in the
movements of Uranus and Neptune that
have convinced it of the existence of another, as
yet unknown, solar body. . . "

Dear
Jonathan, after all you have said about the
newly-discovered Planet
Xena I wonder if you are familiar
with the work of Zecharia Sitchin. He says the ancients
were aware of a Planet called Nibiru that has a very different orbit to the rest of the
Solar System. it travels far from the Sun for millennia
but every so often it comes close to effect the Earths
gravity. He believes it will soon be re-discovered. Paul
Dear
Paul
Sitchin's work deserves
reading with an open mind. But whatever Xena is. . . it is not 'Niburu'

What is a 'Road to Damascus' moment? What does it refer to? - Quora
https://www.quora.com/What-is-a-Road-to-Damascus-moment-What-does-it-refer-to
5 Jul 2016 - Road to Damascus refers to a sudden turning point in one's life. It's in reference to the conversion to Christianity of the apostle Paul while literally on the road to Damascus from Jerusalem. Prior to that moment, he had been called Saul, and was a Pharisee who persecuted followers of Jesus.
Acts 9:3-9 KJV - And as he journeyed, he came near - Bible Gateway

Acts 9:3-9 King James Version (KJV)
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

IF YOU are a woman with a burglar in the house, dial `999'. Many people have no doubt considered at various times what a woman beset by a burglar should do. The telephone service has been mobilising thought on the subject, and the answer is '999'. The call is the new London emergency phone signal to fetch the police, fire brigade or ambulance.
JULY 1, 1971
RUSSIA'S Soyuz 11's return to its native planet yesterday, with the crew of three dead, has struck a chill warning into all those who yearn to visit other worlds. The numbing end of the 231/2-day space adventure [the men suffocated due to an air leak] has raised doubts about whether man can really endure in the new regions where his machines now carry him.
HAIL KING OF THE JEWS
The Romans were an occupying force. They had nothing but contempt for the Jews and now here in their keeping is the 'King of the Jews'. ... If He's a king then they will pledge their loyalty; 'they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him saying “Hail, King of the Jews!”'.
Jesus, King of the Jews - Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus,_King_of_the_Jews
In the New Testament, Jesus is referred to as the King of the Jews (or of the Judeans), both at the beginning of his life and at the end.
Jesus, King of the Jews

Jesus, crowned with thorns in a purple robe as the King of the Jews, being mocked and beaten during his Passion, depicted by van Baburen, 1623.
In the New Testament, Jesus is referred to as the King of the Jews (or of the Judeans), both at the beginning of his life and at the end. In the Koine Greek of the New Testament, e.g., in John 19:3, this is written Basileus ton Ioudaion (ßas??e?? t?? ???da???).[1]
Both uses of the title lead to dramatic results in the New Testament accounts. In the account of the Nativity of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, the wise men (i.e., Magi) who come from the east call Jesus the "King of the Judeans", causing King Herod to order the Massacre of the Innocents. Towards the end of the accounts of all four Canonical Gospels, in the narrative of the Passion of Jesus, the title "King of the Judeans" leads to charges against Jesus that result in his crucifixion.[2][3] The name Judea is a Greek and Roman adaptation of the name "Judah", which originally encompassed the territory of the Israelite tribe of that name and later of the ancient Kingdom of Judah.
The initialism INRI (Latin: Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum) represents the Latin inscription (in John 19:19), which in English translates to "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews", and John 19:20 states that this was written in three languages—Hebrew, Latin, and Greek—during the crucifixion of Jesus. The Greek version of the initialism reads ??B?, representing ??s??? ? ?a???a??? ? Bas??e?? t?? ???da???.[4]
The title "King of the Jews" is only used in the New Testament by gentiles, namely by the Magi, Pontius Pilate, and the Roman soldiers. In contrast, the Jewish leaders use the designation "King of Israel".[2] Although the phrase "King of the Jews" is used in most English translations,[5] it has also been translated "King of the Judeans" (see Ioudaioi).[6]

HOLY BIBLE
The Crucifixion
(Psalm 69:1-36; Matthew 27:32-44; Mark 15:21-32; Luke 23:26-43)
16Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
17And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: 18Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. 19And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. 20This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin. 21Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. 22Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34)
Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:43)
Woman, behold your son: behold your mother. (John 19:26.)
My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34)
I thirst. (John 19:28)
It is finished. (John 19:30)
Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. (Luke 23:46)

Quod scripsi, scripsi (Latin for "What I have written, I have written") is a Latin phrase. It was most famously used by Pontius Pilate in the Bible in response to the Jewish priests who objected to his writing on the sign (titulus) that was hung above Jesus at his Crucifixion.
Quod scripsi, scripsi - Wikipedia
THE JOURNEYWOMAN 1977
THE END OF THE
BEGINNING
When we two parted
In silence and tears,
Half broken-hearted
To sever for years,
Pale grew thy cheek and cold,
Colder thy kiss;
Truly that hour foretold
Sorrow to this.
The dew of the morning
Sunk chill on my brow--
It felt like the warning
Of what I feel now.
Thy vows are all broken,
And light is thy fame;
I hear thy name spoken,
And share in its shame.
They name thee before me,
A knell to mine ear;
A shudder comes o'er me--
Why wert thou so dear?
They know not I knew thee,
Who knew thee too well--
Long, long shall I rue thee,
Too deeply to tell.
In secret we met--
In silence I grieve,
That thy heart could forget,
Thy spirit deceive.
If I should meet thee
After long years,
How should I greet thee?--
With silence and tears.
When We Two Parted

Victor Loret
Quote

Victor Loret (1859-1946) was director of Egytian Antiquities Services when he carried out some excavations
at Saqqara towards the end of the nineteenth century.
Among other interesting finds, the dig turned up a model bird that was more like a working model of a
glider than a simple copy of a real bird.
The model from Saqqara was sent to the Cairo Museum, where it became catologe item number 6437.
In the late 1960's, however it was examined in detail by Dr. Dawoud Khalil Messiha, a specialist in
radiestthesia ( the ability to detect radiations with the human body) and various alternative therapies.
He found that the wings were straight and flat like an airplanes wings, while the tail was vertical, unlike
the horizontal tails of normal birds.
Further more, the Saqqara model had no feet! Dr Messiha made a replica in balsa wood and found that it glided
effectively.
The question remains was it just an ingenious toy glider, made to look like a bird -- or was it a model of a large
glider that had once carried ancient Egyptian passengers?
Some remarkable golden artifacts from Venezuela, Peru, Costa Rica, and Colombia could also be model
aeroplanes, yet they were made by the Mochica or Chimu people whose culture dates back for a good two
thousand years.
One in particular drew the attention of Ivan Sanderson.
Is this Chimu jewellery simply a copy of an insect with wings? Or had the Chimu people seen aircraft two
thousand years ago?

LETTERS RE ARRANGED NUMERICALLY
THE FULCANELLI PHENOMENON
Kenneth Rayner Johnson 1980
Page 263
"It will be as well to recall here what Fulcanelli's reply was when Bergier asked him what the real nature of alchemy consisted in. He said:
'The secret of alchemy is that there exists a means of manipulating matter and energy so as to create what modern science calls a force-field' This force field acts upon the observer and puts him in a privileged position in relation to the universe. From this privileged position he has access to realities that space and time matter and energy, normally conceal from us. This is what we call the Great Work.' "

IN SEARCH OF EXTRA TERRESTRIALS
Unsolved UFO sightings... strange secrets of the moon... new evidence that alien astronauts are exploring the earth
Alan Landsburg 1976

" The words of J. B. S. Haldane came back to haunt me. He once wrote, "Now my suspicion is that the universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose. I suspect that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamed of in any philosophy. That is the reason why I have no philosophy myself, and must be my excuse for dreaming."

"THE WAY OF THE DELIVERER IS THAT OF BONDAGE-BREAKER WHATEVER IS TRAPPED DENIED FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT THE DELIVERER PERSONALLY SETS FREE HER METHOD OF LIBERATION IS TO GO TO THE ROOTS OF THE BLOCKAGE AND LITERALLY BLAST IT FREE IN THIS THE DELIVERER BEARS A STRONG RESEMBLANCE TO THE SHAPER OF ALL WHO IS WILLING TO BE BROKEN INTO PIECES
THE SYMBOLIC IMAGE OF THIS TRANSFORMATION IS THAT OF THE BUTTERFLY EMERGING FROM THE CHRYSALIS FROM APPARENT DEATH AND DESTRUCTION ARISES A NEW FORM OF LIFE SO ARE WE BORNE OF THE DELIVERER RESHAPED AND TRANSFORMED TO LIVE MORE EFFECTIVELY WITHIN OUR CHOSEN FIELD OF OPERATION

Chrysalis
Muriel Spark: introduced by Mick Imlah.
Muriel Spark (1918–2004) was one of the most admired and successful novelists in English in the second half of the twentieth century, author of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1961), based on her own experience of school in Edinburgh, The Girls of Slender Means (1963) and others. But it was in poetry that she first made her name. From 1947–49 she was editor of the journal Poetry Review and her collection The Fanfarlo (1952) preceded her first published fiction. One of the poems in that book, "Chrysalis" was published in the TLS in June 1951
Chrysalis
We found it on a bunch of grapes and put it
In cotton wool, in a matchbox partly open,
In a room in London in wintertime, and in
A safe place, and then forgot it.
Early in the cold spring we said "See this!
Where on earth did the butterfly come from?"
It looked so unnatural whisking about the curtain:
Then we remembered the chrysalis.
There was the broken shell with what was once
The head askew; and what was once the worm
Was away out of the window, out of the warm,
Out of the scene of the small violence.
Not strange, that the pretty creature formalized
The virtue of its dark unconscious wait
For pincers of light to come and pick it out.
But it was a bad business, our being surprised.

CATERPILLARS, when they form cocoons, do not succumb to any sudden doubts. They do not wonder why it is necessary to lock themselves away for a while. They do not consider that it might be unhealthy to retreat so far: Nor, when they finally emerge as blazing, beautiful butterflies, do they stop to-wonder whether life might have been better back in the-old days without wings. You are going through a profound transformation. Absolutely nothing is wrong with this."
MEDITATIONS FOR EVERY DAY
Father Andrew 1934
MONDAY IN EASTER WEEK
RISEN INDEED
'The Lord is risen indeed.'-S. LUKE xxiv. 34
Page 136
SAINT JOHN tells us in his Gospel that, when he and Peter went speeding down to the sepulchre of our Lord and entered in, he ' saw and believed.' What was it that brought conviction to John? He saw something in the way the grave-clothes were disposed which brought absolute conviction to him of our Lord's Resurrection. If he had just seen the graveclothes put on one side, surely he would have thought, as the women thought, that the body of our Lord had been taken from the tomb, but there was something about them which he says brought conviction to him.
The Jewish method of burial was to wind linen round and round the body, sprinkling myrrh and spices upon the linen as they did so. The myrrh was sticky and made the bands of linen adhere closely together, so that the body was like a mummy or the chrysalis of a caterpillar. What S. John saw, when he entered the tomb, was that the linen which had been wound round the body still kept its shape, but it was clear that the body was not inside it. The linen lay there like an empty shell or a chrysalis from which the moth has risen. The napkin which had been laid over the face of Jesus had fallen back and lay in its own place by itself. He saw that, and it brought conviction to him, and he went away with a wholly different frame of mind from that with which he came. As Bishop Westcott says so well in his commentary, the feeling of the apostles is better expressed by their words, The Master lives,' than by the words, He is risen.' They realized that our Lord had never been defeated by death.
MAN'S UNKNOWN JOURNEY
Staveley Bulford 1941

"Words are inadequate to express the multitude of patterns of both Harmony and Discord portrayed by Thought, and the reader who may be unfamiliar with such a possibility as Thought power, must feel somewhat like a cocoon being told that some day he will be a butterfly himself and fly around from / flower to to flower that even at the present moment he, the cocoon, possesses all the essentials for that almost inconceivable manifestation."
Encyclopedia Of Ancient And Forbidden Knowledge
Zolar 1988 Edition

KABBALISTIC WISDOM
There is no death; there is no destruction. All is but change and transformation-first the caterpillar, then the chrysalis, then the mighty mind, and at last a noble Soul."
THE DEATH OF FOREVER
A NEW FUTURE FOR HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS
1991
Page 266
"We should create new rites of passage to celebrate the phases of the human life cycle, rituals for birth, for the transit into adolescence, and above all, for dying.
Of these, the need for a ritual of dying is the most urgent. I know of no greater testament to the failure of our civilisation than the fact that so many people die alone, abandoned like discards on society's junk heap. Dying must again be united with a sense of the sacred, for it is here, if anywhere, that the psyche outgrows its human limitation. The most important message of this book is that consciousness cannot be extinguished by death, for consciousness transcends time. We should learn to approach death with gratitude, seeing it for what it is, the final elimination of ego, the end of the fallacies of time and self.
In the end it can all be said so simply.
Time and self are outgrown husks which consciousness will one day discard, just as a butterfly abandons its chrysalis to fly towards the sun.
IN THE END IT CAN ALL BE SAID SO SIMPLY TIME AND SELF
ARE OUTGROWN HUSKS WHICH CONSCIOUSNESS WILL ONE DAY DISCARD
JUST AS A BUTTERFLY ABANDONS ITS CHRYSALIS TO FLY TOWARDS THE SUN

It is time to examine the regenerative process - the way out of our limited state of body and awareness - a state that was thought of in this doctrine as "larval" to that which would ensue, just as the effectively one - dimensional or linear caterpillar has the hidden ability to spin a self - made cocoon - tomb and then turn into a pupal case, with future wings already outlined on it - a stage that can again metamorphose into the winged imago or mature form that emerges from the shell of the tomb - egg of the cocoon and flies aloft into the sky.
